Moxá Design is an engineering studio specialised in embedded systems, electronics and prototyping. We support SMEs and startups from product concept all the way to intellectual property protection.
Turning complex ideas into working, robust and patentable products. Every project receives the same dedication we reserve for our own proprietary products.
We work under NDA on every client project. Your intellectual property is safe: we never share technologies, circuits or source code between clients.
From hardware to firmware, from PCB to certification, from technical documentation to identifying patentable solutions: a single point of contact for the entire product lifecycle.
For projects requiring mechanical or fluid-dynamics design, Moxá Design relies on trusted external partners with proven experience, delivering complete solutions with no compromise on quality.
Firmware development on nRF52/nRF54, ESP32, STM32. BLE, UART, SPI, I²C. Zephyr RTOS and nRF Connect SDK.
Schematics and multi-layer, RF, WLCSP PCB layout. Component selection, obsolescence management, in-house hardware validation.
Sensors, data acquisition, wireless protocols. NMEA2000, BLE advertising, cloud/mobile gateways and bridges.
KUKA programming (KRC5, KRL), CAM postprocessors with CAMAPI, extruder integration and custom systems.
13+ patents as co-inventors over nearly 40 years of activity. Our own patents filed with the Italian UIBM on SailSensor BoomAngle, Pressure and the Electronic Baseball Umpire. We support our clients in identifying and protecting the technical innovations of the projects we develop together.
Requirement analysis, NDA, feasibility assessment before any financial commitment.
Hardware/firmware architecture, component selection, schematics. Shared review.
Iterative development, bench testing, preliminary EMC validation, hw/fw debugging.
Source transfer, BOM, documentation. Production support and IP analysis.
Measures the boom angle in real time through two inertial sensors and differential quaternion fusion. BLE advertising, ultra-low power consumption, IP67 marine housing.
Differential pressure sensor for measuring sail efficiency. Integrates with SailTrim Helper.
Companion app that receives data from the sensors and guides the sailor toward optimal trim in real time.
Injects BLE sensor data onto the boat's NMEA2000 backbone, available on chartplotters and onboard displays.
Moxá Design is an electronics engineering studio based in Cavezzo (Modena, Italy). It designs embedded systems, firmware, PCBs and IoT solutions for SMEs and startups, following the product from concept to patent protection. It also develops proprietary products, including the SailSensor ecosystem for smart sailing.
The studio is based in Cavezzo, in the province of Modena (Emilia-Romagna, Italy), and serves clients across Italy and Europe. Contact: info@moxa-design.it · +39 333 331 54 05.
The studio was founded by T. Neri, an industrial electronics technician and inventor with over 40 years of experience. Overall, Moxá Design counts 1000+ completed projects and 13+ patents as co-inventors, plus proprietary patent applications filed with the Italian Patent Office (UIBM).
Yes. Every client project starts with the signing of a non-disclosure agreement (NDA), even before the discovery phase. Technologies, circuits and source code are never shared between different clients, and the intellectual property of the results remains with the client.
Yes, on the technical side. Moxá Design identifies the patentable features of a project and prepares the technical documentation (prior-art analysis, description, drawings) alongside the client's patent attorney. It is not a patent attorney or IP consultant: the legal side stays with the attorney.
Do you have an embedded project, a patentable idea or a specific problem the market hasn't solved yet? Get in touch: we assess the technical feasibility and propose a concrete path, with defined costs and timelines.
